In October of 2013, photographer Kathryn Yeaton adopted her second rescue dog, a then 12-week-old border collie mix puppy named Teddy, and brought him home to the dog she already owned, a 2-year-old American Eskimo dog named Lucy. Today, they live happily (ever after) together in Norwalk, Connecticut, where Yeaton runs her photography business Brave Heart Photography.

At first, Lucy paid Teddy no attention as he followed her around like a lost puppy, but their relationship quickly grew into a friendship and today they are very much in love! Earlier this year, Lucy was attacked by another dog and had to have emergency surgery, so as she recovered Teddy would not leave her side. Since then, they have been inseparable.
When Yeaton realized she had two perfect dogs for wedding pictures, she just had to take some pictures of them dressed up for a wedding ceremony! She said, “It was only a matter of time before I realized I had a white dog and black-and-white dog, and they looked too perfect as a bride and groom.”

The Internet went bonkers over the resulting photos and the seed had been planted in the photographer’s mind. She knew she had to up her game and actually stage a real wedding ceremony for these two pups, so she did it like a boss!
She went ALL OUT with this dog wedding. Invitations were printed, flowers were arranged, hors d’oeuvres were prepared, and of course she baked the canine bride and groom delicious wedding cakes (made out of dog-safe ingredients like peanut butter and shredded carrots).

Kathryn Yeaton, you are a boss! You combined your love for your dogs and your love for wedding photography into one BEAUTIFUL backyard dog wedding that we’re glad we got to see some pictures of.

Lucy & Teddy FUREVER!
