While some of these pets may or may not be legal to own where you live, these people (mainly crazy celebrities) somehow pulled it off. You won’t believe #12!

1. Salvador Dalí’s Ant Eaters
One of the most renowned surrealist painters who ever lived, Salvador Dalí, owned ant eaters as pets. And he took them for walks!

2. Elvis Presley’s Kangaroo
Elvis ‘The King’ Presley had a pet kangaroo. Adorable!

3. Reese Witherspoon’s Donkey
Yeah, the famous actress owns a pet donkey!

4. Ivan The Terrible’s Bears
Ivan IV Vasilyevich, more commonly known as Ivan The Terrible, became the first Tsar of All the Russians and expanded the Russian empire greatly during his reign from 1547 to his death in 1584. He was straight up crazy (one time he beat his son to death for example) and also Russian, so it’s no surprise he had some pet bears!

5. First Lady Coolidge’s Raccoon
The wife of former President Calvin Coolidge (30th President of the United States), Grace Coolidge, was the First Lady of the United States from 1923 to 1929 and she also owned a pet raccoon! It looks pretty big too.

6. Anton LaVey’s Lion
The founder of the Church of Satan and author of the Satanic Bible also owned a pet lion! Was he insane? Well, maybe a little bit!

7. The Kardashians’ Chimp
They may annoy the crap out of you, but they own a chimpanzee so they made the list!

8. Vanilla Ice’s Wallaroo
A wallaroo is slightly larger than a wallaby and a little smaller than a kangaroo. The name for them was created by combining WALLAby and kangaROO into one. Vanilla Ice owns one because… I don’t know. Maybe he likes marsupials?

9. Michael Jackson’s Chimp
Michael Jackson owned a chimpanzee named Bubbles. He lives at the Center for Great Apes in Florida now.

10. Tori Spelling’s Chicken
Hopefully it doesn’t take a dump on her head. (Or maybe I hope it does, but you can’t prove that.)

11. Tycho Brahe’s Moose
This brilliant 16th century astronomer was not only one of the last prominent astronomers to work without telescopes, but he also owned a pet moose!

12. Josephine Baker’s Cheetah
Not only was she the first African-American woman to land a role in a major motion picture (‘Zouzou’ in 1934), but she also owned a pet cheetah that she walked on a leash like a boss!

13. Audrey Hepburn’s Fawn
Many regard her as the most naturally beautiful woman of all time and the American Film Institute ranked her as the 3rd greatest female screen legend in history. She also owned a baby deer!

14. George Clooney’s Pig
Haha, this is just awesome!

15. Nicolas Cage’s Octopus
Among other extravagant purchases and owning cobra snakes as pets, Nic Cage also has an octopus that he feels boosts his acting somehow.

An octopus is a weird pet?
