Fat children, especially toddlers, are a bad sign for what’s to come with all the health risks caused simply by being overweight. Over the last 10 years, the rate of obesity among children aged 2 to 5 years old has declined by 43%! Let’s try to continue this trend.
 
Less Violent Crimes

There has been a steady decline in violent crimes across the United States since 1992. Even though the population increased by almost 60 million people in that time, the total number of violent crimes has actually gone down significantly!
 
Better Air Quality

In the last 30 years, there has been a huge increase (94%) in vehicle miles traveled, a 37% population growth, and a 25% rise in energy consumption. With all these factors, you’d expect more pollution overall, but the six most commun air pollutants (carbon monoxide, lead, nitrogen oxide, volatile organic compounds, particulate matter and sulfur dioxide) have DECREASED by 63%! That means we’re at least doing something right to create an environment with cleaner air than before.
 
Less Traffic Deaths

Since 1980, the number of deaths caused by traffic accidents has decreased by over 30%. Automakers are always trying to make vehicles safer and more bosslike. We thank them for it!
 
Less Poverty on a Global Level

Globally, the amount of poverty has decreased in the last 30 years. Even though there are still a ton of poor people of course, it’s slowly getting better. Keep being charitable, because if you’re reading this you are much better off than the vast majority of the world’s population. Always remember that!
