We all know the comedian Jim Carrey, but his way to success didn’t come easy. As a child, Jim worked 8 hour days and lived in a VW.

We all have dreams, but many of us feel like it isn’t in the cards for us. So this article is about those who made it against all odds. And next time you tell yourself you don’t have enough money to pursue the dream, or you are living in the the wrong place and don’t have the time.. This is for you.

When Jim Carrey was 14 years old, his father lost his job. As a result, the family had to live in a VW at some relatives lawn and Jim worked a 8 hour shift after school at a factory. But he always had big dreams, and knew what he wanted to work with comedy.

When he was 10 years old, Jim mailed his resume to The Carrol Burnett Show, a comedy show on TV. And when he was 15, he made his mother make him a suite, so he could preform onstage. He totally blew it, but did not give up.

At 16 years old, Jim decided to quit school to be a full time comedian. He moved to LA, and would spend evenings in Hollywood, just visualizing his success. One night, he wrote himself a check for the future, a 10 million dollar check, dated thanksgiving 1995.

He carried the check in his wallet for years. On thanksgiving 1995, Jim Carrey had just done the move “Dumb and Dumber”, and could cash out the check.
