Haven’t eaten since lunch? Dont’t worry, just grab an apple on your way home. Does your child want snacks? Pick plums.
The Copenhagen’s city council recently voted, and fruit will be planted. The idea is to plant apple trees, blackberry bushes and other fruit trees in the many public parks and playgrounds.
The project is a gift to the city, like a free healthy snackbar. But the plan has other benefits as well, like increase children’s contact with nature, and increase the city’s green space. Lot’s of people do not have their own gardens, so this could (if you want to take advantage of it) be a way to be more hands on with the nature.
We think it is a fantastic idea, and if you now want to move to Copenhagen – click here for a Wikipedia article on the Danish city.
