Homeless teenager Griffin Furlong from Jacksonville, Florida will be attending a university thanks to this GoFundMe page set up to fund his college tuition. (Please continue to donate to this young man, if you have some cash to spare. He can really use the help!)
As a child, Griffin lost his mother to cancer and has been homeless on and off ever since, along with his father and brother. Facing all his troubles head on, he somehow still managed to maintain an astonishing 4.65 GPA in school and was named the valedictorian of his high school.
Struggling through homelessness and very often through hunger, Griffin never gave up and kept going like a true boss. He always did his school work and even managed to receive top grades in advanced classes throughout his time in high school.
Griffin, we wish you all the best at college and know your future is much brighter than your past. Keep being a boss! You are a true inspiration to those people not in an optimal situation, proving that success can still be had if you work hard and never give up!
We’ll leave you with some words from Griffin Furlong, the homeless high school valedictorian who is going to college! “I try to accomplish everything I need to do. I know that I have everything to lose. So I just push myself. School is all I have, family is all I have. I am doing it all for me and what I have been through. I am doing it for my mom.”
