For a crew of firefighters in Vacaville, California, a good deed by an Air Force wife made their Memorial Day weekend extra special.
This past Saturday, the firefighters were shopping for groceries at Costco to have a Memorial Day BBQ, when an urgent medical call came in and they had to leave.
A half hour later, the crew returned to the store and found out someone had already paid for all the items in their shopping cart! A good samaritan Air Force wife had purchased all their food for them and left them a nice note to thank them for always being there for the community.
The firefighters generally pay for their own meals ($25 per shift on average) and decided to pay it forward by purchasing flowers for an elderly couple and cooking dinner for a WWII veteran on Tuesday.
Prior to the selfless act of the Air Force wife, the fire department was already planning a fundraiser to help the Travis Air Force Base’s Fisher House. The establishment helps families of wounded soldiers while they are recovering in the hospital.
Thank you very much for your good deed, anonymous Air Force wife. You are a true boss!
