The Karmelo Anthony murder case continues to draw national attention—not just for the tragic killing of 16-year-old Austin Metcalf, but for the grotesque way far-left activists have chosen to defend the accused and vilify the victim’s family. Karmelo Anthony, 17, is charged with the fatal stabbing of Metcalf at a Frisco, Texas, high school track meet. Rather than demanding justice, activists are protecting the killer and smearing the grieving father as a “racist.”
Karmelo Anthony Murder Case: From a Senseless Killing to a Leftist Political Spectacle
On April 2, 2025, Austin Metcalf, a student-athlete at Frisco Memorial High School, was stabbed and killed during a UIL championship track meet held at Kuykendall Stadium. According to eyewitnesses, the stabbing occurred after Anthony, who was not affiliated with Metcalf’s school, refused to leave their team tent and issued a threat: “Touch me and see what happens.” Moments later, Metcalf was bleeding to death.
Anthony was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. His bond was initially set at $1 million but later lowered to $250,000—a decision that sparked outrage from the community. What followed was even worse: a full-fledged public relations campaign to frame Anthony as a misunderstood youth while demonizing the grieving family of the victim.
“Racism” Accusations in the Karmelo Anthony Murder Case
During a press conference hosted by Karmelo Anthony’s family and activists from the Next Generation Action Network (NGAN), Austin Metcalf’s father, Jeff Metcalf, simply showed up to hear what was being said about the man accused of killing his son. That was apparently too much for the woke mob.
Dominique Alexander, a controversial activist representing the Anthony family, launched a disgusting verbal attack on Metcalf, accusing him of racism for daring to attend the event.
Alexander said:
“I say to people, actions speak louder than words. What he has felled into is the political operatives that want to make this thing a political thing of hate, bigotry, and racism.”
That wasn’t all. Alexander then told the crowd that Jeff Metcalf’s presence was “a disrespect to the dignity of his son.” Instead of expressing sympathy or remorse, the activist pivoted into full-blown character assassination, using identity politics to smear a grieving father.
Dominique Alexander opens by chastising the father of Austin Metcalf for attending the public press conference. (He was forced to leave).

Karmelo Anthony Murder Case Becomes a Leftist Rallying Cry
In typical leftist fashion, the facts of the Karmelo Anthony murder case have taken a back seat to political theater. While Jeff Metcalf pleads for justice and healing, activists are turning his son’s death into a talking point for their agenda. A crowdfunding campaign for Karmelo Anthony was set up to help pay his bail and defense. Social media has been flooded with calls to “support Karmelo,” and leftist outlets continue to imply racism played a role—without offering any proof.
Meanwhile, Jeff Metcalf has asked for the exact opposite. “Please do not comment if you do not know what happened. Try not to turn this into a racial thing. It was not,” he said in a public statement. “Do not politicize it. It’s not.”
Unfortunately, his plea fell on deaf ears.
Justice Demanded in the Karmelo Anthony Murder Case
The Karmelo Anthony murder case now stands as a shameful example of how the radical left has lost all sense of morality. A young man is dead. His father is being called a racist for mourning. And the killer is being treated like the real victim.
The justice system must act. No amount of spin or activism can erase the facts: Austin Metcalf was killed in cold blood, and his family deserves dignity—not defamation.
